Sorry, couldn't resist that one... Anyhow, after I posted about my desire to get a MacBook Air, it was suggested that I got for an Asus Eee instead (an ultra small and very cheap laptop running a version of Linux). I countered that I thought the keyboard would be too small for me - I need to touchtype on a train, so I want a full-sized keyboard. But I did say I'd check it out, and as General Tangent's just bought one, I got a chance to try it out before last night's game. And the verdict is that it's a seriously impressive piece of kit, and if you want something very small for browsing the web, doing emails, and the occasional bit of typing I think I'd strongly recommend it. But the keyboard just wasn't quite what I'm looking for, and it apparently uses a lot of power in hibernation mode (something which is an issue for me, because with the Mac I just stop typing and close the lid - and then when I open it again, I'm right back where I was). But if you're not looking for something you can write a full-length novel with whilst on a train, I'd strongly recommend you check it out.
